Seagull

Story 3

Four years ago my son gave in to the pressure to smoke pot at school mostly out of a desire to fit in. It very quickly bacame a habit he couldn't easily drop. That led to alot of anger, outbursts, and dropping out of life in general, especially school.

He got a part time job that was okay until his boss changed and then he stopped working. A psychologist locally talked to him about drug usage, but he wasn't ready to seriously stop because of a lot of painful issues in his own life.

He moved away from home to Gastown, and we feared for his life. He arrived home 4 months later, more dead than alive. He was thin and acted in a very bizzare fashion. He cut up his clothes and seemed to be punishing himself.

We were stretched to find out how to help him get back to realilty. Then we were introduced to the EPI program and received wonderful help - like water to a dying man.

Our son is now doing well, pursuing a university career, aware of how to care for himself. We have received alot of education which we so desperately needed inorder to care for our son and be a team with him.
